E-commerce giant Flipkart has launched a new programme called Smart Upgrade Plan, that is said to allow buyers to easily upgrade on Samsung smartphones. Buyers can purchase the plan for Rs 11 on Flipkart.
Launched in partnership with Samsung, this plan requires users to pay 70% of the price of the Samsung smartphone. For instance, for a smartphone that costs Rs 15,999, customers have to pay only Rs 11,199 at the time of checkout.
After a year, these customers will then have two options. The first is to upgrade to a new phone on Flipkart and return the original device, therefore saving 30% on the original price or in case they wish to wish to retain their phone, they can pay the remaining 30% of the original price and continue using their existing smartphone.
As of now, the Smart Upgrade plan is available on the Samsung Galaxy F41, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S20+. The landing pages of these products are said to highlight the programme that can be added on to the cart.
Flipkart has said that the Smart Upgrade plan is applicable for payments made through Credit Card or Credit Card EMI purchases or Bajaj Finserv EMI Card.
Flipkart says that the handsets that are part of the Smart Upgrade Plan are not eligible for resale during the period of one year.
